Forthill Community Sports Club is seeking an experienced and passionate Head Coach / Racquets Manager. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of coaching experience, a deep understanding of player development, and a commitment to enhance tennis / padel and squash experiences for all members. We are looking for someone who can offer 1:1 and group coaching to members as required.
Key Responsibilities:
Review our existing coaching programs for players of all ages and skill levels and make any improvements needed.
Provide high-quality individual and group coaching sessions.
Mentor and manage more junior coaches.
Organize and oversee club tournaments, clinics, and social events.
Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages participation and improvement.
Collaborate with club management to promote and grow the club’s membership.
Stay current with the latest coaching techniques and industry trends.
Work closely with governing bodies and Game4Padel.
We are happy to negotiate a retainer for the successful candidate.
Overview:
Forthill Community Sports Club is a unique, inclusive and family-friendly sports club. FCSC is a multi sports club catering for Tennis, Cricket, Rugby, Squash, Table Tennis and soon to be Padel.
We are situated right next door to the biggest primary school in Dundee (Forthill PS) thus creating huge links to developing our programmes. Through our friendly committee and club coach, we aim to provide a range of playing opportunities for people of all ages and abilities 12 months of the year. Our facilities include 3 new all-weather floodlit artificial clay courts, 3 squash courts, cricket and rugby field, free car park, changing rooms, bar and function hall, kitchen area and a small indoor sports centre. Coming in 2025 are 2 covered padel tennis courts and pickleball.
We are an LTA-accredited club, meaning we are management-efficient and operate as an inclusive, safe and progressive organisation. We work closely with governing bodies and local partnerships to develop our club and community outreach programmes by offering coaching opportunities to all.
Person Specification
Proven experience as a tennis coach, with a minimum of 3 years in a coaching role.
Level 3 LTA Accredited (or a Level 2 working towards Level 3).
Desirable experience in Padel and squash coaching.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to work with players of all ages and abilities.
Leadership experience and the ability to inspire and manage a small coaching team.
Passion for racquet sports and a commitment to player development.
Supportive and engaged.
